Project description

The designed tank is used for the storage of 20,000 m³ of water-polluting substances and was classified as a "LAU" facility according to VAwS. The retention in the sense of a secondary barrier was designed and constructed as an uncoated impermeable surface in accordance with DAfStb guideline BUmwS as a circumferential combined reinforced concrete containment space.

Optimisation with SFRC
  • Reduction of the slab thickness by optimising the position of the neutral axis in the cross-section towards the tensioned side (increase of the bending pressure zone) -> Economic aspect

  • Significant reduction of the crack width-limiting reinforcement by more than half -> Optimal constructability/economic aspect

  • Greater potential on the resistance side regarding tightness -> Durability is crucial
Slab thickness

75 cm Bodenplatte (Slab) + 80 cm Sockel (Socket) = 155 cm
